UPDATE

I've finally updated the patterns in the sidebar. I tried to last week, but Blogger wouldn't let me. The new patterns are:
Diamante
Sox on 2 Stix
Cablenet
Red Herring
-All the socks from Magknits-
Eunny's Bayerische Socks
How to Knit an Argyle Sock
Arrrgyle Chart
Arrrgyle Chart 2 (brighter colors)
Anastasia Socks
Zokni Socks

I've also added a bunch of 'Recommended Reads', sock books that every sock knitter should read. If you know any more, let me know and I'll add them. If you know of any other sock patterns let me know about those, too. Sorry about my slackness about Blogger lately. I'm sick with strep throat and am not up to doing much aside from dosing myself up with vitamin C and the like and knitting (of course).

I have been knitting socks! I'm almost done with my sister's 2nd Jaywalker. I cannot wait to be done with these. I do love how the pattern looks, but I'm getting so sick of knitting them. While I walk I always knit socks and the ones I'm working on now are a pair of Fixation ankle socks. I have one done and am on the foot of the 2nd. I think that's about it on the sock front. I have lots of socks planned, but it would take me forever to list them here. You'll just have to wait. Oooh, the suspense!

I have really enjoyed seeing your socks!

p.s. For those of your who are 'on' Knitty, have you seen the Knitty Sock Exchange thread? Who's in on it? Anyone participating in the Sock Wars?

Ocean Socks

Yay they are done, and not too bad a job if I say so myself!! (modeled by DD as the pictures do come out better...only problem is..well she can wear them too!) Done for the Mystery Sock KAL where you knit a sock without a picture! It was a little difficult at the start as I stated before, and the second one didn't want to go too smoothly in the midpart...

Yarn is the Storm Colorway from Heather in a light sportweight I think. It knit really nice (well when I didn't have to tink quite a bit on the last one LOL!!) Used my Brittany size 3 dpns. They fit well and are pretty comfy. I made them along with my friend CPurl, who helped me immensely! Off to get ready for Socktoberfest!

zokni socks finished

These Zokni socks are modeled by my DD a couple of weeks ago just before she left for university. I've had issues with both my computer and camera recently and so the delay in posting the photo. These are the first pair of socks I've made for her. But, she has approximately the same size foot as I do, and she kept taking the socks I'd made for myself. I'm hoping they'll keep her feet warm this winter. They're made in KP Essential.

A classic sock

I knit another pair of cuff down socks in Lorna's Laces. I love, love this yarn. The colorway is Black Watch. These are a gift and I would like to keep them for myself but alas my pals foot is bigger than mine....I do hope she likes them.

For more details come on over to my blog.

World's Slowest Sock Knitter Completes Socks!

World's slowest sock knitter reporting... I've made another pair of super plain self-striping socks. One is a teensy bit longer than the other, but they haven't been blocked or washed yet, so we'll see. I also knit one sock from the outside of the ball, and one from the inside, so the stripes coordinate, but do not identically match. And guess what!? There's no gappy gusset hole! Amazing.

Pattern: LB Magic Stripes Basic Socks
Yarn: 1 ball LB Magic Stipes in Brown/Blue #205
Needles: Bryspun DPN US 2.5/3mm
Mods: none, other than needle size

Swinging Single....Sock

This is my first post on this KAL and only my fifth pair of socks. The pattern is from Sensational Knitted Socks and is a ribbed lace with an Eye of Partridge Heel. The yarn is Louet Gems and is very nice to work with. Provided I finish the second sock in time, I plan to give this pair to my fave SIL as a gift. Anyone know a good spell for warding off SSS?

Two more pairs complete!

With all the hassles that I've been having with Blogger lately, I completely forgot to post here with my two latest FOs. *blush* The first pair is actually a nearly year-long project finally complete. They are a basic ribbed sock done in Kroy. The second pair is Pretty Petals by Jeanie Townsend done in Lana Grossa Maya. Complete details and links to larger photos are on my blog.

One Skein Cabled Footies

Just finished! Boy, does knitting socks in a worsted weight yarn go fast. I changed the cable pattern on these, also the toe, but otherwise knit them according to the pattern in One Skein. These are a gift, but the next pair will be for me. A fun, quick knit!

A Fortissimo Finish

My Fortissimo Colori socks are finished. This was the first sock yarn I had ever purchased three years ago. I guess my tastes have "refined" a little bit. This time I found the yarn very harsh and scratchy to work with. Down near the toe of the bottom sock the yarn was very thin and did not knit up well.

On the other hand, I've worn the first pair of socks for three years and they show very little sign of wear. They have "fuzzed" a little bit, but are still in one piece. Hope these will hold up well too.

Chocolate anyone?

I was feeling the need for some low calorie chocolate, so I whipped up a pair of chocolate and caramel swirled socks.

These were a quick knit - 3 days! Woot!

Details at my blog.

On the road again

My Road Trip socks are finally done!

I had other projects that needed attention which is why it took me so long to finish these. Over the weekend I'm going to cast on for the Jaywalker socks using some Lorna's Laces yarn I have in my stash.

The yarn I used for these socks is Knitpicks Sock Memories in Gladiolus.

It only took my half a year...

I know, I can't believe it either. I cast on for Pomatomus way back in March and here I am finally finishing up in September. Let's just say that I had one hellave case of Second-Sock-Syndrome. In any case, here they are.

Details here on my blog.

Next up, argyles à la Moth Heaven's Happy Socks.

Hope these won't be malingering in the UFO pile for another six months!

Melanie's Twist Socks Are Done

My first finish for September.

The details:

Yarn: Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock
Colorway: Buck's Bar
Pattern: Melanie's Twist
Needles: Size 2 (Crystal Palace)

These socks are a little snug in the foot. :-( I was sure I had made them long enough, but I really could have used another 3 or 4 rows. Oh well ...next time.

The cuff is a little snug too. I think next time I'll do my ribbing in size 3 needles and go down to 2 for the rest of the knitting.

All in all I'd rate these socks as one of my favorite patterns to date. The pattern is easy enough to keep track of while you watch television, but not so boring that you wish you hadn't picked this sock.

Red/black stripe socks

I too started these socks...um..er..in May truthfully, but they were frogged at re-started at least 4 times (that I want to remember ;) I had just learned how to do socks on 2 circs and tried to use it for this yarn, but it didn't want to play with my needles...soo...I went to magic loop, or could we say I had to finish these first to get my needle from! I also used my new Brittany Dpns. So, yes, one sock was knit with dpns and one with magic loop. I wanted to make these at the same time so I would work on one section on one sock, then onto the other sock. It worked great and no SSS...just getting started syndrome ;) DD requested this colorway, thankfully it is not separate colors...could you imagine the weaving in of those ends..yikes!!!

Plain sock pattern from Knitting Rules from Yarn Harlot. I also used wooly nylon in the heels and toes for reinforcements.

Custom hand dyed colorway by All Things Heather!
