World's Slowest Sock Knitter Completes Socks!
World's slowest sock knitter reporting... I've made another pair of super plain self-striping socks. One is a teensy bit longer than the other, but they haven't been blocked or washed yet, so we'll see. I also knit one sock from the outside of the ball, and one from the inside, so the stripes coordinate, but do not identically match. And guess what!? There's no gappy gusset hole! Amazing.
Pattern: LB Magic Stripes Basic Socks
Yarn: 1 ball LB Magic Stipes in Brown/Blue #205
Needles: Bryspun DPN US 2.5/3mm
Mods: none, other than needle size

Charlene Schurch in Sensational Knitted Socks has some clearly illustrated tips for eliminating the gusset holes.
Your socks look great!
An extra stitch picked up at that crucial spot - and trial and error. I think a little luck too. ;)
Beautiful! I was happy when I discovered the gappy solution too... It makes things feel so much better, doesn't it?
Nice job there! Enjoy them! :)
