Less than 1 skein of Knit picks sock garden in Pansy! Another WIP off the list!

Finished Socks

I've had these socks on the needles since early June, but I finally finished them today. They were my first installment of the Rockin' Sock Club from Blue Moon Fiber Arts. They were knit in Socks that Rock medium weight yarn. My favorite part of knitting these was the linen stitch cuff. More information is on my blog.

Sock Craziness Continues...

So, here's the latest result of my sock binge... The yarn is knitnpurlzen in a colourway called 'merlot', the pattern is Waving Lace from IK Spring 2004, and knit on size 2.5mm or 1 1/2US, 5" dpns... I love them! I'm keeping them for me, I think. They fit perfectly, so... Very nice to knit, trouble free... And it wouldn't be right to call this a sock binge if I didn't tell you I'm halfway through another pair!

Halfway point in my Road Trip

It's been a while since I've picked up the DPNs for a pair of socks, but I finally did it. I started the Road Trip Socks using Knit Picks Sock Memories in Gladiolus. I had a couple of skeins so I thought I would put them to good use. Here is a pic of the first one:

I actually made a few adjustments, otherwise these would have been way too big. When knitting for the foot, I did 20 rows instead of the 26 called for, before starting the toe shaping. If I make these socks again I would also shorten the heel as well, but I didn't do that this time round.

Two pairs done!

CIC socks

I have finished some socks for CIC. I used Lambs Pride worsted with size 4 dpns. The first one took me a few days to do but the second one was done in 2 nights of uninterupted TV watching. I still had some left over yarn so I'm working on a hat. Once that's done I will pick up my Berocco Europa socks and finish those off. After that I want to start on some Fixation ones.....NEVER enough time to knit my socks.

Finally, a completed pair

I actually get to post on here since I FINALLY finished a pair of socks since I joined.

My VM Socks with a forethought heel. A very quick knit, it only took me 5 days to complete! Miracle for me. I used Lion's Magic Stripes and US 3s.

More details here.

Toe up socks - update

I finished my first toe-up sock last night (need to start the second one now ;))

Love this colour!!!

I'm on a roll...

I have the week off from work and have been finishing all kinds of projects. Here is sock #1 of the pair I proposed as my very first knitalong project! Double moss stitch, baby alpaca, Sensational Knitted Socks, #2 on the needles...woo hoo!

They even match!

Here are Mom's socks, finished the Fourth of July. Again, they're Fortissima Colori Socka yarn, knit on Size 2 dpns. I knit them from the cuff down, then went back and took out my cast-on row and knit upward, finishing with a tubular bind-off. And yes, I screwed up on the reinforcing thread on one toe, but Mom will live.

I couldn't resist starting a new pair right away, with purple-y Koigu KPPM, though I'm supposed to be working on something else. Oh well!

After I signed up here last week, I started messing around with Blogger, so now I have a blog, too. (I feel so 21st century!) It's linked with my name in the list on the right.

Socks Done!

They're done! I love the colours... Many thanks to my mom for modelling the socks!
I've started another pair in a reddish colour. I'm going with the Waving Lace pattern from IK Spring 2004... Looking good so far!
